News: Jackie Von Tobel Brings Global Design Trends Home During Las Vegas Design Center First Friday Seminar March 5th

(LAS VEGAS)—Bestselling author, illustrator designer and blogger Jackie Von Tobel traveled across Europe studying the latest interior design trends, and she’ll be sharing them at Las Vegas Design Center at World Market Center Friday, March 5, as a part of the First Friday design series.

The Las Vegas resident visited the winter Heimtextile in Frankfurt, IMM Cologne and Maison et Objet in Paris. She’ll uncover her findings via a visual tour of emerging global trends, color, style and design for 2010.

With more than 20 years of experience in design and professional speaking, Von Tobel’s mission is to encourage designers and decorators to re-visit the fundamentals of soft furnishing design while expanding their ranges. Using her own career as an example, Von Tobel will discuss how to express creativity in a professional and profitable way.

Von Tobel is the author and illustrator of the definitive series of illustrated encyclopedias and comprehensive design manuals for the trade, students and consumers, The Design Directory of Window Treatments. She recently released the second volume in the series, The Design Directory of Bedding, and is currently working on the third and fourth installs, The Design Directory of Soft Furnishings Volumes I & II which will cover subjects such as slipcovers, upholstery, table linens, table skirts and much more.

She is a member of IFDA and WCAA and is certified by the Window Fashions Certification Program, Window Coverings Association of America and The Custom Home Furnishings Academy.

First Friday at Las Vegas Design Center is a unique, not-to-be missed shopping day for local and out-of-market design professionals. The monthly event features educational opportunities, showroom specials, hospitality and other exclusive offerings for the trade.
